SAIC is seeking a motivated Junior Web Developer to join our team. This is a 100% remote work from home position. The candidate will work under the guidance of senior developer(s) to assist in the development and maintenance of web applications and websites.
Job Duties:
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of web applications and websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
- Collaborate with senior developers to translate design mockups and wireframes into functional and responsive web interfaces.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct testing and debugging of web applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.
- Assist in the integration of third-party APIs, plugins, and libraries to enhance the functionality of web applications.
- Stay updated on emerging web development trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute fresh ideas and insights to the development process.
- Participate in code reviews, discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions with the development team to foster learning and collaboration.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of web applications, including version control, deployment pipelines, and server configurations.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and providing timely support to end-users and clients as needed.
- Contribute to the documentation of technical specifications, project plans, and development processes to ensure clarity and transparency within the team.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree and zero (0) years of experience; 4 more years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Security Clearance:
- Active Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) to create and style web pages.
- Basic understanding of JavaScript programming language and its libraries/frameworks (e.g., jQuery) for adding interactivity and dynamic elements to websites.
- F amiliarity with responsive web design principles and techniques to ensure websites display properly across various devices and screen sizes.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git and platforms like GitHub for code collaboration, versioning, and tracking changes.
- Basic understanding of popular front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, or Materialize CSS, and their usage in building responsive and visually appealing web applications.
- Familiarity with server-side programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Node.js) and databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) can be advantageous, although not always required for junior roles.
- Proficiency in using web development tools such as code editors (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text), browser developer tools, and debugging tools.
- Knowledge of web standards and best practices, including accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and SEO principles, to ensure websites are user-friendly and search engine-friendly.
Target salary range: $65,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
