Position Summary

The System Administrator I is the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues. This role provides prompt, courteous, and effective support to resolve basic hardware, software, and network-related problems. The System Administrator I is responsible for logging, tracking, and escalating tickets as needed to ensure timely resolution and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, or in-person.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for:
• Workstations, laptops, and mobile devices
• Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.)
• Network connectivity (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers)
• Standard business applications and software
• Peripheral devices (printers, scanners, phones, etc.)
• Accurately log all requests and resolutions into the IT ticketing system.
• Escalate more complex issues to Tier 2 or Tier 3 support when necessary.
• Follow documented procedures for account setup, password resets, and access permissions.
• Assist with new hire setups, including provisioning accounts, devices, and software.
• Maintain and update IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with end-users.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in IT-related field preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or related technical role.
• Industry certifications a plus (CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, ITIL Foundation).

Skills & Abilities

• Basic understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer service orientation and ability to remain patient under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
