We are looking for an experienced Senior Fund Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing all day-to-day accounting for two real estate related funds, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in fund accounting and investment fund operations. Ideally hybrid, 3 days a week on site in New York City.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, including calculating Net Asset Value (NAV) for various fund types.

• Perform daily reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Oversee fund operations for private equity, hedge funds, and real estate investment trusts (REITs).

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to generate accurate fund performance reports.

• Utilize systems like Yardi and Yardi Voyager to manage real estate fund data and transactions.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies during fund administration processes.

• Analyze fund performance and provide insights to support decision-making.

• Manage closed-end funds and alternative asset classes with a focus on operational efficiency.

• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting or a related field.
• Proficiency in calculating Net Asset Value (NAV) and performing fund reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of real estate investment trusts (REITs), closed-end funds, and alternative assets.
• Hands-on experience with fund administration and reporting processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Yardi and Yardi Voyager.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
