The Grange of Prince Edward winery in Hillier, ON is looking for several wine steward / event staff (part-time / seasonal) to join our 20+ person strong team. We are located at 990 Closson Rd. in beautiful Prince Edward County. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, engaged, and is someone who will actively contribute to a positive team environment that emphasizes cooperation and collaboration.

Job Description:

This position is a combination of front-of-house and back-of-house duties. As a Food Runner, you will assist in delivering dishes from the kitchen to guests, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and exceptional service. As a Dishwasher, you will help maintain a clean and organized kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize our guests' experience. Engage in a warm, welcoming manner to create a positive first impression.
• Contribute to a positive team environment that emphasizes cooperation and collaboration.
• Deliver food from the kitchen to guests in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing station.
• Clear tables of plates, glasses, bottles, food, and garbage to proper areas.
• Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
• Assist with basic kitchen prep as needed.
• Follow all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfortable carrying multiple plates and working in a customer-facing role.
• Reliable and detail-oriented.
• Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is a plus but not required.
• The physical ability to stand for extended periods, carry a tray of glasses (20 lbs) up a flight of stairs or over uneven terrain, and thrive in a frequently fast-paced environment is required.
• ⁠Availability to work weekends, evenings, winery events, and also weddings / private dinners that frequently run past midnight.
