Quoting/Design Engineer | Royal Truck Body | Carson, CA

Regular Employee | Salary Exempt | 100,000.00 - 110,000.00

What you'll do:

As the Quoting/Design Engineer for Royal Truck Body (A Shyft Group Brand) based in Carson, CA ,   you will be responsible for for providing accurate, timely, and cost effective engineering solutions that work well within the limits of our manufacturing equipment, processes and assembly capabilities.

You will also focus on providing custom design support, reviewing current costs for standard products, and providing cost estimating/quoting support for custom products in partnership with the Sales team.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide design support for custom products
• Create manufacturing packets with drawings for the shop floor
• Offer cost estimating and quoting support for custom products for the Sales team
• Review of all custom designs and current product costs
• Audit costs of current products to ensure accuracy and provide intercompany pricing

What you need:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Three or more (3+) years of Product Cost Estimation experience
• Versed in the design and manufacturing of sheet metal products, including tolerance design and ANSI-Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• A history of delivering projects from concept through production.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Solidworks

What Makes You Stand Out

• Two or more (2+) years of engineering experience related to the design and development of on-highway, heavy truck, specialty, or automotive vehicles
• Experience with AutoCAD
