Print Production Collator Operator

Location: Gastonia, NC
Pay: $20.00/HR+ (Based on Experience)
Schedule: 4-Day Work Week | 10-Hour Shifts | Mon–Thurs, 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

About this Role:

Personnel Services Unlimited is seeking an experienced Collator Operator to set up, run, and maintain collating machines for assembling multi-page printed documents in correct sequence. This role is essential to producing accurate, high-quality finished products for a busy printing manufacturer.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate collating machines according to job specifications
• Adjust machine components (pockets, guides, grippers, air blowers) for optimal performance
• Monitor operations to ensure pages are collated in correct order and quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to prevent downtime and defects
• Maintain accurate production and materials usage records
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on collating equipment
• Follow safety procedures and company quality control standards
• Collaborate with press operators and bindery staff to ensure efficient workflow

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in printing preferred)
• Prior experience operating collating machines in a printing environment (required)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to read and follow job orders and technical instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks
