Role Overview
The Ophthalmologist Advisor will play a crucial role in evaluating ophthalmology-related startups, offering clinical insights, and supporting due diligence processes. This role is ideal for a practicing or retired ophthalmologist with an interest in venture capital, innovation, and the future of eye care.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert evaluation of ophthalmology-focused investment opportunities, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, AI diagnostics, and digital health solutions.
• Assess the clinical feasibility, efficacy, and potential impact of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with our investment team to analyze market trends and regulatory considerations in ophthalmology.
• Participate in due diligence, including reviewing clinical trial data, speaking with startup founders, and advising on FDA approval pathways.
• Offer strategic guidance to portfolio companies in the ophthalmology space.
• Attend occasional investor meetings, pitch sessions, and healthcare conferences as needed.
  

Qualifications

• Board-certified Ophthalmologist with significant clinical or research experience.
• Strong knowledge of emerging trends in ophthalmology, including AI, telemedicine, and innovative treatments.
• Interest or experience in venture capital, startup advisory, or healthcare innovation.
• Ability to analyze complex clinical and business data to support investment decisions.
