About the Role:

The Medical Receptionist at Digestive Disease Associates of Rockland County (DDRC) plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. This position is responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records, which are essential for providing high-quality care. The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, creating a welcoming environment and addressing inquiries with professionalism and empathy. Additionally, this role involves coordinating with medical staff to facilitate efficient patient flow and support the overall administrative functions of the practice. Ultimately, the Medical Receptionist contributes significantly to patient satisfaction and the effective delivery of healthcare services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in medical office administration or a related field.
  • Experience with billing and insurance processes.
  • Bilingual skills to assist a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient check-in/check-out processes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely patient care and follow-up.
