Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Maintenance Mechanic II in Houma, Louisiana.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for maintenance activities, troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment, systems, structure and production machinery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n
• Perform broad tasks to include, but are not limited to, rebuilding machine tools, service vehicles, equipment and machinery; overhauling troublesome components and attachments, repairing hand and power tools, dismantling machines and equipment; effecting repairs in a manner to minimize downtime. Also assists with more complex projects.
\n
• Diagnose problems, consult blueprints, drawings, schematics, manufacturers instruction manuals, etc.
\n
• Routine inspections and maintenance of machinery, vehicles, cranes and other equipment.
\n
• Facility maintenance and repair to include, but not limited to painting, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, concrete, welding, and general maintenance work.
\n
• Produce quality work in an efficient manner.
\n

\n OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

\n
• Installation of new equipment.
\n
• Process appropriate paperwork.
\n
• May provide instruction to operators or junior mechanics.
\n
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
\n

\n QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

\n
• Minimum of two years prior experience, performing mechanical work on similar equipment and machinery.
\n
• Working knowledge of plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance work.
\n
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical charts.
\n
• Basic mathematical and measurement computations applicable to the craft.
\n
• Good verbal communication and reading skills.
\n
• Ability to operate hand tools, cranes, cutting torches, and other equipment common to the trade.
\n
• Ability to follow simple and complex instructions.
\n

\n PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

\n
• Pulling/pushing, bending, standing, throwing, kneeling, balancing, carrying, sitting, walking, crawling, crouching, reaching, climbing, unnatural body positioning, and working in a confined space.
\n
• Lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
\n
• Non climate controlled environment.
\n
