Position Title: Machine Operator
Wage: $17.00/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6:00am - 4:00pm (Monday - Thursday)

Machine Operator Responsibilities: - Perform production work directed by Supervisor or Shift Lead
- Set up, program and operate machines with minimal errors and supervision
- Perform machine changeovers and adjustments
- Troubleshoot machine issues
- Complete simple preventive maintenance tasks on production equipment using simple hand tools
- Assists other Operators and Maintenance personnel on mechanical repairs
- Load and unload product
- Assemble, craft and assist with the movement of doors throughout the manufacturing process
- Read, understand and follow production schedules ensuring the right product is manufactured at the right time and at the right place
- Gather materials as needed based on established production schedules to ensure a continuous and efficient door crafting process
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process, ensuring manufacturing specifications are achieved
- Control waste and looks for improvements
- Communicate professionally and effectively to support product flow through plant
- Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate
- Perform housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean work environment
- Provide and assist with training new and existing personnel
- Cross train and is flexible to perform other warehouse duties across the plant as directed
- Cycle count inventory as needed
- Work in a manner to ensure safety of self and others following Lock Out /Tag Out procedures, including wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Requirements for Machine Operator: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in manufacturing, specifically in the wood industry is helpful but not necessary
- Good mechanical skills
- Time management skills with ability to work with a sense of urgency
- Excellent problem solving skills with ability to gather and analyze data
- Strong decision making and analytical abilities
- Ability to multi-task, manage various priorities and concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to listen actively
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to embrace change and flexible to the needs of the business and team
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to understand units of measurement
- Ability to add/subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals
- Ability to read a tape measure and/or caliper
