A full-time private driver is sought for a principal in Long Island, with frequent travel to/from Manhattan. The schedule will be variable; 5–6 days per week, averaging 35–40+ hours, which includes frequent evenings, weekends, late nights, and occasional overnight trips. Most schedule changes happen same-day, and flexibility is essential.
Provide safe, punctual, and discreet transportation primarily between Long Island and Manhattan, with occasional longer trips (e.g., Boston).
Monitor principal's schedule in advance and manage departure times accordingly.
Anticipate traffic, advise on adjustments, and ensure timely arrivals.
Maintain the vehicle (BMW X7, transitioning to Suburban or Escalade) – fuel, cleanliness, servicing, and inspections.
Assist with errands, shopping, luggage, packages, and occasional heavier loads (e.g., moving dorm boxes).
Light support for household tasks (unpacking books, power washing a walkway, covering outdoor furniture).
Occasionally transport guests or staff.
Occasional dog walking.
Exercise discretion, professionalism, and excellent judgment at all times.
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a private chauffeur for UHNW clients, with verifiable references.
Valid New York State driver’s license; limousine or commercial license strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of NYC traffic patterns, routes, and parking.
Guaranteed 35 hours/week on an annualized basis (some weeks 45–50, others fewer).
$50/hour starting rate, negotiable based on experience
Overtime paid at 1.5x when applicable.
2 weeks’ paid vacation to start; Bonus commensurate with performance.
Commute time from the driver's home to the Long Island residence is unpaid; client is considering purchasing a dedicated vehicle for the driver to keep at their home for future use.
