Job Description

About the Role:

Looking for a proactive, experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function and support our team across multiple locations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys building structure, leading change, and working closely with leadership to guide and implement HR strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy
  • Lead and manage all HR operations and initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to company leadership on people matters.
  • Recommend and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of a new, comprehensive employee handbook.
  • Employee Relations
  • Act as the main point of contact for employee relations issues.
  • Guide and support managers in performance management and disciplinary processes.
  • Foster a positive and respectful workplace culture through consistent communication and support.
  • Policy & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and records.
  • Support audits and maintain documentation as required.
  • Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment efforts in coordination with the HR Generalist.
  • Ensure a smooth and consistent onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Partner with department managers to anticipate and fill staffing needs.
  • Compensation & Benefits
  • Oversee payroll administration in partnership with the Payroll Specialist.
  • Manage benefits programs including enrollments, renewals, and employee education.
  • Benchmark compensation and suggest updates to remain competitive.
  • Training & Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate relevant development programs.
  • Support compliance training and ongoing employee learning.
  • HR Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee data and HR records.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure HRIS systems are up to date and properly used.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience managing or mentoring other HR staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Able to operate independently and handle confidential matters with discretion

Preferred:

  • Experience in a multi-location or distribution/retail environment
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
