#1 In Home Care seeks a compassionate, supportive, and proactive leader to serve as our Direct Support Worker (DSW) Field Supervisor. The person in this role shapes a culture of teamwork, respect, and outstanding service, while ensuring our DSWs are properly trained and adhere to state and federal regulatory compliance, promote quality outcomes, and ensure that that all clients serviced are treated with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
The person in this role will:
- Supervise DSWs and ensure they are providing quality services and following the established client plan of care (CPOC)
- Interview, hire, and orientate DSWs to #1 In Home Care policies and procedures
- Ensure DSWs are trained to provide safe and effective client care
- Ensure DSW notes follow standard procedures, approve DSW timesheets and submit to payroll timely
- Coordinate scheduling, on-call coverage, and ensure adequate staffing at all times to service clients
- Ensure complete/accurate documented client progress notes, medication records, and service logs
- Travel to client locations to conduct supervisory visits on an unannounced basis to evaluate staff performance and ensure compliance with care standards in accordance to state and federal guidelines
- Conduct home assessments and phone contacts for all clients serviced under your caseload
- Communicate professionally and promptly with clients and staff regarding any complaints, concerns, or service needs; ensuring all communications are accurately documented in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation for all client binders in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate positively and professionally with peers, client families, and all other client service providers
- Lead by example, fostering an environment where staff feel valued, supported, and empowered to deliver their best
- Coach, mentor, and provide constructive performance feedback to DSW
- Be proactive and solutions-driven, resolving conflicts constructively
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Ability to pass background screening
- 5+ years' experience supporting individuals in a home, nursing, or healthcare environment
- Must have a minimum of 2 year's DSW Field Supervisor experience
- Audit experience a plus
- A commitment to exceptional customer service, ensuring that both client and caregiver concerns are addressed promptly and with empathy
- Louisiana DSW Field Supervisor training/certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license/reliable transportation and proof of insurance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft/Google business software
- Experience with LASRS is a plus
- Must be flexible and on-call

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical Activity Level: Active physical activity performing daily activities that include walking, driving, lifting, cleaning, and assisting clients as needed. Also performs non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Physical Demands: Able to lift, carry pull, or move objects up to 50lbs in weight. Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner for document client records.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Position requires driving to client site outdoors and employee may incur inclement weather conditions during the course of driving.
- Employee may work outside of standard business hours as required.
