The Role:

Star Mountain attends, speaks at and hosts over 75 events per year. The Events Coordinator will join an existing team to support in the management and implementation of small and large events where the Firm is either hosting the event or a participant within the investment industry.

Position Description:

  • Work with Marketing team to develop, manage, and implement small and large events focused on developing relationships with current and prospective investors and deal sources.
  • Provide support with the end-to-end planning, management, and execution of all Star Mountain sponsored or hosted events:
  • Develop firm wide event protocols for pre-, during, and post- event coordination.
  • Work with team (Origination, Fundraising, Digital Media, and Business Development Teams) on research, idea generation, agenda development, speaker sourcing, guest list generation, timelines, cost proposals, venue selection, event design, key follow ups and returns on investment.
  • Help support the Origination, Investor Relations and Fundraising teams in building strong relationships with all vendors, venues, and guests who attend Star Mountain events.
  • Evaluate and analyze prospective event attendance and speaking roles for Senior Team:
  • Develop robust event circuit for Senior Fundraising team such as speaking engagements, conference attendance, and networking events).
  • Liaise between event host and SM all related activities.
  • Develop and maintain potential client pipelines and follow-up efforts in coordination with Senior Team.
  • Work with local municipalities, sports teams, interesting keynote speakers, etc. to create engaging and compelling events.
  • Manage relationships with CRM database.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, PR, Business preferred with strong GPA (3.5+).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in working at or within the financial services industry or relevant event production experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate solid project management, organizational and written/oral communication skills.
  • Thorough and detail-orientated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Adheres to deadlines.
  • “Can do”, positive attitude to add value however possible as a team player.
  • Results-oriented, disciplined work ethic.
  • Friendly personality and good at building relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, CRM systems.
  • Desire to learn and handle as much responsibility as possible.
  • Travel is required as needed for Star Mountain hosted events nationwide.

Compensation:

The typical salary for this position is between $75,000 & $85,000. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and performance during the selection process. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other economics. Total compensation may vary by role, location, department, and individual performance.
