Entry-Level Technical Support Engineer

This entry-level position provides support to engineers on technical projects and products. The role involves collecting, maintaining, organizing, compiling, and manipulating technical data, as well as creating, building, assembling, modifying, and repairing prototypes. The position requires preparing engineering documentation, reports, drawings, sketches, flow charts, diagrams, and schematics. Additionally, mathematical calculations are performed according to engineering specifications and alternative solutions to problems are recommended.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and 3rd party owners for joint-owned poles.
• Review work provided by the client and assess the requirements of scopes.
• Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and apply engineering principles and design for mitigation.
• Travel to sites as needed, perform inspections, return to the office to perform engineering design work, and collect field data for electrical design work packages.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in environmental science or GIS related field is preferred.
• Willingness to perform both field and office work.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Power/Utilities experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with field data collection is preferred.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
