The Consumer Content Team seeks a talented and creative, end user writer to focus on our troubleshooting support and learning content for various enterprise products and more. You'll create and update content which addresses updates and critical customer issues with the software. Your work may be a continuation of documentation already started and a revamp of existing documentation.
In this role, you'll rely on your investigative and analytical skills to ask subject matter experts the right questions to get to the heart of the issue. You'll use tenacity and persistence when following up with key stakeholders. You'll use your ability to write clearly and succinctly to describe the simplest possible solutions and help customers get to a better place.
In this role, you will focus on content freshness content. We are looking for strong SME knowledge in Windows and/or Office.
Responsibilities:
•Ability to understand the problem; generate ideas; propose ideas and update documentation accordingly.
•Interact cross-functionally: Work with people across teams to find creative solutions and deliver them.
•Write and update general troubleshooting content.
•Write and update content for various product areas.
•Collaborate closely with peers in customer support to identify stakeholders and subject matter experts.
•Collaborate with channel managers to ensure content updates meet publication deadlines.
•Maintain the voice principles in our support content.
Qualifications:
•3+ years technical writing consumer help content and/or ux writing experience.
•Strong Expertise and subject matter knowledge with Windows, Office and Microsoft apps, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, but we also work on Forms, Edge, and others.
•Able to work cross-team with partners in product groups
•Any history with developing learning content is a plus
•Self-starter. Ability to manage and balance workload.
•Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills
•Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Comfortable juggling different schedules and managing different processes across projects.
•Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness.
•Quick learner. Ability to pick up different authoring tools and technology. Nice to have any experience with C3
•Strong tech writing skills for end-user/consumer audience (writing help/support content a plus) with knowledge of Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
•Editing experience (proofing, copyediting, dev editing, style/voice) and quality assurance experience preferred
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $38-$41 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
